Danville History

The local Habitat affiliate of Danville began in 1986 when an old house was remodeled at 908 N. Franklin Street. The first new house construction on Commercial Street was built with the Danville Home Builders Association. Terry Everyingham of White Construction led a team of 16 professional carpenters who framed up the house in one day. Men from the First Church of the Nazarene laid the block for the foundation. The Harold Anderson family moved into the house in 1993, and the Anderson still live there. They have paid off their contract to Habitat. Over 30 houses have now been provided for partner families. Founder Milliard Fuller has spoken twice in Danville.
